WOO HOO Emmalee!
At the beginning of this year, Emmalee won the school Spelling Bee! We were so excited and thrilled.
Today she participated in the District Spelling Bee with 5 other schools in the district (including the middle school with 7th and 8th graders). She hung in there to the end and took 2nd place!
She sadly missed the word megalopolis (I don't even know what this word is?!), which she accidently said the letter "j" instead of "g" and couldn't repeat the word once she said a letter wrong. She said the letter and then backtracked to start over but knew by then she messed up.
She is such a trooper. She now gets to go to the county spelling bee in Casa Grande Feb. 20th. I am still beaming for her victory! She looked so tiny next to the 7th grader that won.
Emmalee, I am proud of you! Love, mom
Grandma Pidd came to root her on!
Emmalee was so composed and confident!
